Open Issues (bugs) a go-go

Uncategorized

Please post bugs or defects you find on the site here in the comments. We will update this thread as we resolve them. Resolution dates are in parenthesis.

Issues:
1. IE7 - Unable to upload pictures on profile pages. (ETA - Monday 24th Sept)
2. Duplicate results - Our engine is treating www.foo.com, foo.com, and foo.com/index.html as unique items. (tbd)
3. Cache regeneration - Cache is not getting regenerated correctly on the People page which means new users are not getting shown. (ETA - Monday 24th Sept)
4. Ma.gnolia export - Bookmarks are not getting exported to Ma.gnolia (import is operational). (ETA - Tuesday 24th Sept)
5. Logging in has been temporarily disabled while we deploy our latest build.
6. Registration issues (Thanks Piero and Andrew C - we added Google’s Analytics javascript to the site yesterday evening and for some reason it was interfering with our form validation. Apologies to anyone who ran into this. The code has been removed and Registration is functioning again).
7. Safari 3 - The js is not rendering properly on the registration page under Safari 3.

Browsers tested so far: IE7, IE6 (very limited), Firefox 2/Flock, Safari 2, Camino (very limited)

Regarding Magnolia Export - We will be holding off supporting this feature until they add support for oauth

You should have a way to get back to the main site from the blog. If you click the Nsyght image at the top of the blog it takes you to the blog main page…

Thanks for the comment. We are theming Wordpress early next week so our blog will sit cleanly in the same look and feel as the main site. Unfortunately a nice blog theme is pretty low on our totem pole! :)

Which version/platform are you using? We’ve tested FF on both the PC and Mac. Send us an email and we’ll be happy to look into it (hellothere@nsyght.com)

Having same issue as Pierro; I’ll shoot off an email

looking forward to trying it out…I’m hearing good things!

Thanks for the heads up guys. We’ve fixed the error and it should be clear sailing now.

Clicking any link that brings you to the Nsyght blog logs you out of Nsyght. Also, what about adding the ability to import profile lists from Wink or Profilactic?

  8. admin says: Posted on Wednesday 10th October

Wink is definitely on our list but haven’t checked out profilactic yet.

Sorry for the confusion on the logging. The blog is on another domain and we have not yet integrated it into the site. Next time you log in, be sure to select “remember me” so when you return to the site, you’ll still be logged in.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I authorized my ma.gnolia account but on my profile page I am still encouraged to enable it.

  10. admin says: Posted on Sunday 13th January

Hi Skoch: Thanks for this. We are aware of a problem on Magnolia’s side with our oauth integration. We are working with Magnolia on a fix and will update everyone once its resolved. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for responding so quickly! Another thing: Will the bookmarks I imported from del.icio.us be visible in my profile, or is that only the bookmarks I add directly to nsyght?

  12. admin says: Posted on Sunday 13th January

    We aim to please. :)

Bookmarks you import will show up alongside the bookmarks you create in Nsyght. The idea is that you can use Nsyght to feed bookmarks to delicious or magnolia (or both), or you can keep bookmarking in those services and feed Nsyght to improve your search.

How you do it is really down to what you prefer. This is the power of data portability, the user (you) should be able to decide how you want your data to move around.

It’s been 7 hours since I imported my del.icio.us bookmarks and they still don’t show. Did I do something wrong or am I just too impatient?

  14. skoch says: Posted on Wednesday 16th January

In fact, it’s been several days now, and my del.icio.us bookmarks are not imported. What should I do?

  15. admin says: Posted on Wednesday 16th January

Just email your del.icio.us username and a quick summary of the issue to hellothere AT nsyght DOT com and we will look into it.

I cannot update my photo. Error message says “file size too large” but it is less than 50K so it should work, no?

  17. gahlord says: Posted on Monday 11th February

    Small UI issue.

When logged in, on the “Edit My Profile” section, the social bookmarking sites display as follows:

    De.licio.us (enable)
    Ma.gnolia.com (enable)

However, I have already enabled Ma.gnolia.com so it should probably say something other than (enable) how about (authorized) ?

    Thanks.

  18. admin says: Posted on Monday 11th February

    Hi Gahlord,
Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having.

Can you email hellothere at nsyght dot com with your Nsyght and Magnolia username?

You are correct, if you have correctly authorized your account using our oauth integration, you should no longer see the “enable” tag.

I’ve tried to register with my OpenID, then with Openpass - but it seems that OpenId registration didn’t go through and now my nickname is taken, while I still haven’t got an authorization email.

Is it possible to fix it?

    Thanks

Should it say ‘Friendspoting’ or ‘Friendspotting’? :)

Link on your footer menu goes to: http://nsyght.com/ - which (today anyway) isn’t working. Needs change to: http://www.nsyght.com ?
